Who regulates septic work in Chicago
Illinois sets the rules in the Private Sewage Disposal Code, and the Cook County Department of Public Health issues the permits and does the inspections for Chicago. Septic work in unincorporated and non-sewered areas is permitted and inspected by the county. Pumping and hauling has to be done by a licensed private sewage disposal pumping contractor — ours is licence #055-044513.

Estimates are free. What a job costs depends on tank size, how easy the lid is to reach, and what we find once it is open. Larger work — main line installation or repair — is quoted after an on-site inspection, not over the phone. Financing is available.
