Due for a pump-out?
Septic Tank Pumping
Routine pumping for 1,000–1,500 gallon residential tanks across the western Chicago suburbs.
A pump-out empties the tank of the solids and scum that settle out of everything the house sends down the drain. Left long enough, that layer reaches the outlet and starts moving into the drain field, which is the expensive part of the system to replace.
Most 1,000 to 1,500 gallon residential tanks are pumped every three to five years. Household size drives that more than house size — more people means more water through the same tank.
We locate and open the lid, pump the tank down, and look at what the inside is telling us on the way out: baffle condition, water level, whether the field is taking effluent. If something looks wrong you will hear it while we are standing there, not in a letter afterwards.
